Purpose:
The North Mecklenburg Woman's Club is organized
to bring women together to promote and support social, educational,
and civic progress in the community.
The North Mecklenburg Woman's
Club (NMWC) holds their official business meetings the first Wednesday
of the month, September through May. At these meetings, guest speakers
come and tell of the needs in the community to make members aware
of what needs to be done for those who need help. NMWC works with
many organizations some of which are Ada Jenkins Center, Barium Springs,
Carolina Raptor Center, Cornelius Animal Shelter, Double Harvest,
Dove House, Gatlin Center for Juveniles, Heifer Project, Hope House,
Huntersville Food Pantry, Lake Norman Free Clinic, Life Span, Lydia's
Loft, Smile Train, Solomon's House, and most importantly scholarships
to students at Hopewell and North Mecklenburg High School as well
as to a women who wishes to further her career by going back to school.
Between
these meetings we have fun with each other by having Book Club, Bridge,
Golf Groupies, Lunch Bunch, Movie Mania, Supper Club, and there is
always some type of tour to go on. All of our members enjoy these
groups, but you must be a member to play with us.
If this sounds
fun to you and you want to get involved with the community, contact
Membership Chairman, Dawn Bradford at 704-875-1402.
