International Affairs

International Affairs fosters relationships through educational, cultural and civic exchanges. Our support helps bring empowerment and healing to those who live far beyond our borders. This year we choose to support the following organizationse.

Solace for the Children demonstrates God's love by providing health care and summer respite to children from Afghanistan. Their mission is to promote peace on a foundation of health. Solace also offers health & educational opportunities to children that otherwise would have no access to these services.

Double Harvest Haiti assists a country considered to be the poorest in the Western Hemisphere. They have 200 acres dedicated to agriculture, a medical & surgical clinic and a vocational training school beginning in kindergarten. There are many opportunities for our group to contribute through cash donations, school and health supplies. Often, we begin purchasing supplies while they are on sale and save them for our spring drive.

Physicians for Peace mission is to build peace and international friendships through medicine. Our donation will be directed toward their burn care program to directly help a burned child or train a burn care nurse.

Heifer International provides farm animals to impoverished families around the world. This provides families with a valuable source of food and income. Each of the families that are helped commits to pass on their gift animal’s first female offspring to another family in need. This benefits the whole community. Our organization raises money from our members to help purchase animals for the families participating in Heifer.
