NMWC Night Club

peeps.jpgThe Night Peeps was the vision of Starr Miller and Karen Miller, who are business women during the day but wanted to continue their contributions to the community through the work of the North Mecklenburg Woman's Club.  The first year, 2009, brought approximately 15 members to the Night Peeps.  These women met at Positano's Restaurant the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  They had speakers and duplicated the day meeting.  Through 2010 – 2012, Denise Carter chaired the Night Peeps and assigned night members positions of secretary, chaplain, membership and projects.  The meetings moved to Alton's Restaurant in Jetton Village and became  more structured with agendas, minutes, devotions, treasury reports, projects and any information from the day meetings was discussed more thoroughly at night.  In 2010, the first Night Peeps project was Dress for Success, where our night members held a brunch and all members cleaned out their business wear and donated it to local women in need of appropriate attire for jobs and interviews.  It was a huge success for everyone.  In 2011, we hosted Book Club and Wine and Dine for the day and night members.  At Christmas, we donated a Wii and an exercise pad to the Waymer Center and participated in the club fundraiser, "Over the Tabletop" by creating a table, "Visions of Sugarplums Dancing in Your Head".  Through the club's fundraising efforts, night members sold Butter Braids, decorated a table for Over the Tabletop, and donated some great prizes for the upcoming "A Night Out With Oscar".  In March, we are spearheading a project for day and night women by collecting juice boxes, crackers, fruit roll ups, etc. for A Child's Place and in April we will preparing a meal for the Hospice House.

We welcome women who want to contribute to the community but for different reasons can't attend our day meeting. We want all women – YOU are needed in our club and community.

Join us anytime the first Tuesday of the months September through May at Alton's in Jetton Village at 6:00 p.m.  Arrive early for conversation and a glass of wine at the bar.  The meetings last no longer than two hours.  Dinner is served for $15 (not including wine).  We usually have the same guest speaker that the day members have to keep it consistent.  Just RSVP by the Sunday before the meeting.
