Denim & Diamonds Casino Night

at Langtree Plantation, Mooresville, NC

Members of the North Mecklenburg Woman’s Club hold fundraising events throughout the year, in order to donate the monies raised, in their entirety, to our designated charities.

There are roles for everyone on the fundraising committee. Do you like to plan fun, exciting events? Decorate or bake? Are you a good organizer, good on computers, a good financial person? Are you outgoing or a behind the scenes worker? We need everyone! We hope you will consider becoming part of our dynamic fundraising team. We work hard but we have a blast getting the job done!

The 2016-2017 year consisted of two wonderful events that provided great fun for great causes.

December 6, 2016, ‘Red, White, & Green’ was our only fundraising event of 2016! Held during our joint meeting at NorthStone Country Club, this is an exciting live auction. All members bring a gift wrapped in red, white, and green, and include a note giving clues as to what is in the package. Bidding begins and it’s great fun to watch as participants open their surprise winnings!

All efforts this year were on our Denim and Diamonds Casino Night which was held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the fabulous Langtree Plantation. It was a very fun evening! Casino gaming, prizes, music, and food are always a great combination!

New this year! We invited members to take the “Make $ Grow Charity Challenge”. Each member willing to take the challenge was given $20 in “seed money” and asked to make it grow. For example: You could take your $20 to the grocery store and buy tea bags and a box of scone mix. Then you tell 6 friends you are trying to make $ grow for charity and ask if they would be willing to come to your $10 tea. You have a lovely afternoon with friends and bring the $60 you collected to the next meeting. The idea was to use whatever skills, talents, or interests each member had to “Make $ Grow” by hosting something, making something, selling something, teaching something…anything goes!!!

Last but not least there are always sponsorship opportunities for members and businesses. If you can be a sponsor yourself or connect us with a potential sponsor it will have a big impact on the people our charities serve. There are many benefits to sponsors ranging from listings in our new NMWC business directory to exposure at meetings, events, on websites, newsletters, and local publications.

One of the things we are most proud of is that 100% of our net fundraising proceeds directly benefit our charities.
